The month-long festival known as Artown is one of Reno’s biggest summer events. Kicking off July 1, the 28th annual festival will feature 500 headlining performers, along with multicultural and children’s events, at over 100 different venues and pop-ups throughout Washoe County. Even better, 75% of the exhibits, plays, shows, concerts, performances, readings, recitals, lectures, workshops, historical tours, programs, and classes are entirely free to the public. The event is hosting a media day on May 1 with a preview of the festival line-up, but we’re sharing a sneak peek right here.

Artown 2023 Festival Line-Up Preview

• John Pizzarelli, world-renowned guitarist and vocalist, accompanied by his trio, will perform legendary songs featured on both Broadway and the silver screen.
• Tony Nominee Ann Hamptom Callaway will perform songs and share stories in celebration of beloved artist Peggy Lee.
• Nickel Creek, Grammy-winning trio featuring mandolinist Chris Thile, violinist Sara Watkins, and guitarist Sean Watkins, along with special guest Monica Martin, bring their progressive take on acoustic music. The trio is credited with revolutionizing folk and roots and recently released its first new album in nine years.
• The Omar Sosa Quarteto Americanos is Sosa’s first U.S.-based jazz ensemble since the 1990s. The Cuban composer and pianist is widely regarded as one of the most versatile jazz musicians in the world, fusing jazz, electronica and world music with his native Afro-Cuban roots for a truly original urban sound.
• Jesse & Joy, an award-winning, best-selling sibling pop duo from Mexico City, routinely sell out stadiums and areas. In this intimate setting, the  “purest, most talented artists of our generation,” as Latin Times describes them, will showcase their unique brother-sister dynamic.
• Storm Large is an American singer, songwriter, actress and author. She’s been a contestant on Rock Star: Supernova and season 16 of America’s Got Talent. She currently performs nationally with her own band and tours internationally with Pink Martini, a Portland-based band. Note that her performance contains adult content and children under 18 aren’t permitted.
• Diana Reeves is one of the world’s most impressive jazz vocalists, with five Grammy awards to her credit.
